This is found on three beautiful pristine lakes located in the immediate area.

One-Of-A-Kind Old-Growth Forests

Deception Pass State Park is most notable for its breathtaking rugged cliffs that offer shear drop-offs into turbulent and colorful waters of famous Deception Pass. Even more impressive is the beautiful and one-of-a-kind old-growth forests and a wide variety of abundant wildlife found throughout the park. Breathtaking views and miles of nature trails for unlimited hiking round out this truly amazing State Park.

Samish And The Swinomish Indian Tribes

The park has a history that dates back thousands of years. When first settled, deception Pass was known as Bowman Bay, Coronet Bay and other titles of the time such as Rosario. Over time the area was settled by the Samish and the Swinomish Indian tribes. One of the first explorers to map the area was Captain George Vancouver who was a European on a northwest coastal expedition. He was responsible for the name that still stands today, Deception Pass.

Multiple Hiking Locations

Other advantages of visiting Deception Pass include a wide array of camping opportunities. With over 160-tent sites and multiple hiking locations as well as facilities such as showers and restrooms, the area is perfect for a family outing. In addition, there is a park store and a full array of boating opportunities. For example, open all winter is the Coronet Bay boat launch as well as multiple other freshwater and saltwater boat ramps.
